It’s yours to visit! South Para Reservoir Reserve opened today, Saturday 7 December, with more than 1,200 visitors joining the buzzing community event eager to experience the adventure on offer.

South Para opening

The adventure destination of South Australia’s reservoir reserves, South Para is the fourth to open following Myponga in April and Warren and Bundaleer in October. You can explore the network of trails in your hiking boots or on your mountain bike, plus paddle the water in your kayak or canoe. You can try your luck fishing, with golden perch, silver perch and Murray cod in the reservoir waters.

Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures hosted a series of kayaking and mountain biking tours, which all booked out in record time, while Nature Play SA entertained families and children with their fun and creative nature themed activities in event village. Local businesses kept visitors refreshed when they returned from exploring the trails and the water.

Thanks to everyone who made the event a great success and joined the celebration. Now it’s time for you experience the adventure and all that South Para has to offer!
