Lovely Valley certainly lived up to its name, suggested news reports leading to the day the gentle green hills and majestic gums fell way to 6000 million gallons of water to become Myponga Reservoir.

Turning back the pages in time

The Myponga Historical Society had worked hard to mark May’s History Month and launch the Heritage Fleurieu Coast Festival in the church hall alongside the popular Myponga Reservoir Reserve. But measures needed to tackle COVID-19 meant the efforts to coordinate events and dedications for the festival had to be stopped and information and pictures gathered about the town, dairy farming district and, of course, the landmark reservoir were not going to see the light of day.

Mount Bold reopens

Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve will reopen to visitors at 9am on Saturday 6 May, following completion of SA Water’s dam safety upgrade preparation works.

Barossa region reservoir reserves reopen

The fish have really been biting at Warren Reservoir Reserve for the Kenny family.The Gawler family, dad Paul and daughters Makayla, 9, and Dannielle, 12, have between them caught more than 80 fish on their regular visits to the picturesque reserve just 5km from Williamstown.
